Rehearsals have now begun for our summer concert, and we're pleased to be part of the Hitchin Festival again.
A summer delight, Petite Messe Solennelle is a perfect example of Rossini's wit and musical ingenuity. A wide range of musical styles is demonstrated, but the music remains unmistakeably Rossini - he brings a decidedly operatic twist to the sacred. Despite the name of the piece it is neither petite nor solennelle.
Conducted by our MD Harry Bradford, the choir will be joined by four talented young soloists. Our accompanists are Colin Spinks on piano and George Inscoe on harmonium.
