NORTH HERTS GUILD OF SINGERS
We are a happy and successful choir which has been going strong for more than 50 years. Based in Hitchin, we are one of the best-known and best-supported choirs in the area.
MUSICAL FIREWORKS
Elsewhere in town there might have been rockets and sparklers, but at Walsworth Road Baptist Church on November 8th the fireworks came from a thrilling evening of music by Felix Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny Hensel. Our indefatigable director Harry Bradford led the choir through a programme including the popular Hear My Prayer and the rarely heard Hiob, featuring our brilliant soloists, Natalka Pasicznyk, Rachael Best-Babayeju, Benedict Munden and Alexander Semple, with accompanist - and occasional guest tenor - Colin Spinks.
It won't be long till our Christmas concert, when we will be focusing on seasonal music by Gustav Holst plus lots of familiar favourites.
